Decisions of the Holy Synod December 2/15, 2011 |

On Thursday December 2/15, 2011 the Holy Synod of the Church of the G.O.C. of Greece convened in a regular session at its offices in Athens and reached the following decisions:
- It approved the Orthodox Youth Association’s By-Laws submitted by the Synodal Youth Committee.
- It appointed His Grace Bishop Photios of Marathon and the theologians Zeses Tsiotras and Constantine Panos as the Governing Commission of the Catechetical School. Aside from the operation of the Catechetical School, the Governing Commission undertook the responsibility to investigate the possibility of upgrading the school and to include relevant articles in the By-Laws which are being drafted.
- It decided to convene a common Synaxis of the clergy of Athens, Piraeus and Attica-Boeotia on Tuesday Dec. 21, 2011/Jan. 10, 2012 at 11am. in the hall of the Spiritual Center “The Unfading Rose” in Piraeus.
- It accepted the petition to be received of Fr. Paul Maletta from Canada. He is married and the father of seven children.
- The suggestion of His Eminence Metropolitan Gerontios of Piraeus and Salamina concerning uniform liturgical order was discussed and the first part was approved which concerns hierarchal liturgies and presiding etc, and ceremonies during which the typicon of the Great Church of Christ will basically be followed.
